Volunteers

Why Volunteer?

People volunteer for a variety of reasons.  Many of us have time to spare and feel volunteering will be a constructive use of time and skills.  You could be needing some practical experience to enhance your employment prospects.
Whatever the reason, people who volunteer are offering to do something to help other people, without personal reward.

Being a volunteer will enable you to:
Increase your self confidence
Gain experience
Maintain/learn new skills
Benefit from training
Above all enjoy yourself

Who volunteers?

Volunteers come from all walks of life with various skills and experience.  They could be unemployed, a student, a housewife, a retired person….. or just someone who can give a few hours of their time each week to help others!  Experience is not always necessary as training will be provided.
What can volunteers do?
SureStart Preston East Children’s Centre have a wide range of volunteering opportunities including family support, play work with children, crèche support, administration to name but a few.
